The Nidek laser is a scanning slit laser and the optical zone/transitional zone size can be adjusted based on patient pupil size to diminish the chance of moderate glare.

Scanning technology. The laser incorporates patented scanning slit laser energy. This scanning light energy can ablate the cornea 360 degrees smoothly. Its linear-shaped laser beam sweeps the corneal surface in six directions each cycle, homogenizing the excimer-generated light energy. This sweeping of the beam in various directions disperses peaks and valleys that are present in all excimer laser beams.

Variable optical and transition zone sizes minimizes vision problems.

Linear and rotational scanning maximizes ablation smoothness.

Operating microscope slit beam. The Nidek slit beam illuminators, immediately assess patient alignment in a 3-axis orientation, including the z-axis. Only laser that currently allows qualitative assessment of z-axis orientation.

Heart of the Nidek laser. The Nidek laser uses the Lambda Physik excimer laser. Lambda Physik is the worldwide leader in excimer lasers for industrial, scientific, and medical applications. The first operation on the human cornea to improve vision was a Lambda Physik laser. 70% of all installed excimer lasers, (medical, research, and industry) are Lambda Physik lasers.

Speed. The Nidek laser completes the ablation for a given myopic patient much faster than any other true scanning laser. Minimizing time during the laser ablation increases reproducibility of results since there is less time for the cornea to dehydrate. The Nidek laser takes approximately 6 seconds for each diopter of myopia corrected, approximately 30% faster than other scanning lasers.

Visx S-4 IR Customvue Technology. Advancements that revolutionize treatment and enable new levels of outcomes. Together, the WaveScan WaveFront System and STAR S4 Excimer Laser System deliver unprecedented levels of measurement accuracy and outstanding treatment precision essential to the CustomVue procedure. VISX has worked to target and optimize four essential steps to maximize the effectiveness of wavefront driven treatments: 1. Acquire comprehensive, reliable wavefront data 2. Design the optimal ablation shape for each individual eye 3. Align and orient this optimal shape to the patients cornea 4. Deliver the intended shape, utilizing precise and efficient laser technology

OPD Nidek Wavefront Analyzer and Topographer.

Microkeratome system designed for providing superior hinges (flap direction), which provides a much more stable flap.

The Moria LSK microkeratome unit contains a backup suction unit. Dr. Lee owns SIX microkeratome systems.

Lasik microkeratome system with FIVE flap sizes, this flexibility is important for smaller eyes.

Lasik microkeratome system capable of providing an adjustable hinge size, important for smaller eyes.

State of the art BACK-UP power supply (UPSUninterruptible Power Supply) for the laser itself in the event of a blackout. In other words, if the electricity shuts off for any reason, the UPS system keeps the laser system running so Dr. Lee can safely complete your procedure without any interruption.

Lasik Eye Center also has an additional Topographer (Tomey).

Lasik Eye Center also has two BACK-UP Pachymeter (DGH) to measure the corneal thickness.
