Dr. Joseph Lee (years ago) invented a refractive surgery implant prior to his fellowship at Doheny Eye Institute. Based on preliminary results, the National Eye Institute awarded a competitive grant to Dr. Joseph Lee, the SBIR (Small Business Innovative Research Grant – $100,000).
